A total of six thousand fi ve hundred and fi ve delegates have so far been trained in the oil and gas sector. These delegates have demonstrated a knack for excellence `and are positioned to make meaningful contribution in improving service delivery within the industry. Some of the delegates are fi rst and secondclass awardees that have shown extra-ordinary commitment to further develop their career in companies or sub-contracting companies operating in the Niger Delta Region. The Presidential Amnesty Offi  ce is currently engaged in an advocacy to facilitate the recruitment of more delegates who now possess the qualifi cations and technical knowledge to further develop Nigeria’s Oil and Gas sector.

Special Adviser to the President on Niger Delta and Coordinator of the Presidential Amnesty Programme, Brigadier General Paul Boroh (Rtd) has tasked members of the Ijaw Professionals Association (IPA) to makevaluable inputs in the development of the Niger Delta region, saying that the doors of the Amnesty Office are open to all well meaning individuals to make their useful contributions towards the successful implementation of the ongoing reintegration phase of the Presidential Amnesty programme. The Special Adviser to the President on Niger Delta Affairs and Coordinator of the Presidential Amnesty Programme, Brigadier General Paul Boroh is calling on the general public to patronize products produced by Amnesty Beneficiaries. Trained and Empowered Amnesty Beneficiaries are successfully producing items that will add value to the economy. From Rice, Fishes and Chickens in the agricultural sector; to Shoes, Hats and Belts in the Fashion industry; Amnesty Beneficiaries  are showing the world that they are Reintegrated and can add value. AGRICULTURE

One area that has remained of utmost importance to the Presidential Amnesty Office is Agriculture. This is in line with the presidential initiative on exploring available potentials in the sector to grow the national economy.  The Amnesty vigorously pursuing partnerships with relevant agroallied groups to among other things encourage the youth of the Niger Delta to embrace commercial agriculture. Some of the key partners include the Federal Ministry of Agriculture and the National Bio-Technology Development center. Delegates have been empowered by the office to begin fishery, poultry and crop farming while thousands of delegates yet to be trained are now being deployed into Agriculture.
